Free Comic Book Day at Mutiny Comics
It’s that time of the year again where a niche industry with major distribution issues and low wages in spite of significant cultural impact gives away millions of books. Despite its flaws, this is the closest thing we’ve got to a holiday in the comics world and I’m happy to celebrate. This year, I’ll be tabling at Mutiny Comics alongside another dozen or so comic creators!
Whether you are interested in pledging for STEPPERS during our Kickstarter campaign or asking me to sign a book to make me feel weird, I love meeting readers in-person. Come find me if you’re in the Denver area!
In other news, we were pleasantly surprised to see some coverage over at Comics Beat, including a very kind review from Diego Higuera:
When The Mouse entered the public domain, I could only imagine the kinds of wild, creative ideas people would dream up. In the hands of C. Clyde and Henry Miller, though, I have to say I’m genuinely thrilled. Their story follows the Mouse as he wrestles with the irony of his image being used to prop up the very corporations he once vowed to fight, all set within a gritty, noir-inspired cartoon world. I love it. Clyde and Miller bring fresh, inventive energy to this kind of storytelling, and it shows. With over $2,000 raised, the project is well on its way to completion. Be sure to check it out, it’s something special.
If you haven’t checked it out for yourself and would like to make a pledge, we’d surely appreciate it as we enter the alleged “mid-campaign slump”. Of course, we’ve been telling ourselves that it couldn’t happen to us, but alas. It did, and we could use some extra support for the campaign:
